Empowering Lives through Recovery and Community

Welcome to Kingston RISE!

We are a recovery community dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals with histories of substance misuse and/or mental illness. Our mission is to build a supportive social network, enhance life and personal development skills, alleviate personal problems, and empower the community through co-production and peer support.

Our Aims

There are four aims to Kingston RISE. These are:

Improving Life and Personal Development Skills:

Our workshops and classes are designed to help you develop essential skills for personal growth and well-being.

Building Social Networks:

We create opportunities for individuals to connect and form supportive relationships, fostering a strong sense of community.

We provide personal supervision and peer support to help you navigate challenges and improve your overall quality of life.

We believe in the power of collaboration and peer support, empowering our community to take an active role in their recovery journey.

Community Café

Join us for our weekly drop-in sessions at the Community Café, where you can relax, socialize, and find support in a friendly atmosphere.

Self-Development and Wellbeing Workshops

Participate in workshops and classes focused on self-development and well-being, designed to help you build confidence and new skills. So far we have offered 30 workshops annually, benefiting 100 people.

Our Activities
Film Club

Enjoy movie nights with our film club, which provides a fun and relaxing way to bond with others in the community.

Allotment

Get your hands dirty and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of gardening with our community allotment activities.

Walks

Join our organized walks to explore the local area, stay active, and enjoy the great outdoors together.

Co-Produced Activities

These activities are designed to enhance your social life and well-being and are set up by members of the community that want to share their specific interest or hobby. So far with our community members we have co-created over 350 activities.

Community Volunteer Training

Over the past three years, 60 individuals have received our 6-day training to become community volunteers. These volunteers will then deliver community activities and peer support to others.

Volunteer-Led Awareness Talks and Workshops

Over the past ... years we have engaged in 30 volunteer-led awareness talks and workshops at schools and colleges to challenge stigma and increase drug awareness.

Community Representative Training

We aim to train at least 15 volunteers per year to be community representatives. These representatives will promote and give talks at community venues and to people receiving treatment, fostering reciprocity
